Google still holds one of the very few monopolized web 2.0 business on internet - the feedburner.
Its like there is no other alternative. Anyway, the announcement (though hushed) of the Feedsqueezer is a welcome change to this situation.
Thought the site has not yet been launched, it provides hope of a worthy competitor to the feedburner. You can sign up for their beta testing program and also receive the latest updates (i.e., when the service is going to be up and running) by registering here.
