Adding watermark to Microsoft documents is broadly divided into two sections :
1. watermarking in Microsoft office word 2007
2. watermarking in Microsoft word versions prior to office 2007
1. watermarking in Microsoft office word 2007
-> Select Page Layout Tab in the ribbon.
-> Select the “Watermark” Option
-> Here, you can either select from the default options provided or create your own custom watermark.
-> In custom watermark, you can select either a picture or a text.
-> Click OK and exit
2. watermarking in Microsoft word versions prior to office 2007
-> Go to Format->Background->Printed watermark
-> In the printed watermark dialog box, you can choose from either of the two options by selecting the appropriate radio button - picture watermark or text watermark.
-> Select the semitransparent option.
-> Click ok and exit
